National Institute of Technology Raipur (Formerly Government Engineering College Raipur) was established in 1956 and acquired the status of National Institute of Technology (an Institution of National Importance) on 1st December 2005. The institute is committed to the challenging task of the development of technical education by preparing seasoned graduates in highly sophisticated fields of engineering and technology. The core values adopted by the institute as enduring principles are Integrity, Excellence, Transparency, and Accountability. At present, the institute offers graduate-level courses in twelve disciplines, postgraduate in thirteen disciplines, and doctorate programs in all the advanced and core fields of engineering.
Electrical Engineering is one of the significant engineering branches of NIT Raipur and has been contributing to the institute since its inception in 1958. The department aims at imparting state-of-the-art knowledge and skills to the students, thus, developing them into excellent electrical engineers, entrepreneurs, scientists, and academicians.
The second international conference on Emerging Technologies and Applications in Electrical Engineering aims to promote eminent research in critical investigation and exploration of thrust technologies and emerging concepts in the various application fields of Electrical Engineering.
Scope of the Conference: Power Electronics & Renewable, advanced semiconductors, Drives, Energy storage, Optics & Photonics, Smart sensing & controlling technologies in Protection and control of Power grid, High voltage Engineering, Applications of AI & ML in addressing dominant issues of Power generation, transmission, distribution, and utilization.

Dr. R. C. Bansal, Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Sharjah, UAE. Fellow IET-UK; CPEng-IET-UK; Senior Member, IEEE; Fellow Institution of Engineers (India). His educational qualifications include Ph.D. and M.E. from IIT Delhi in 2003 and 1996, MBA from IGNOU, New Delhi in 1997, AMIE in Electrical Engineering from Institution of Engineers (India) in 1991, and Diploma in Electrical Engineering from Govt. Polytechnic Sirsa (Haryana), India, in 1987.
He has 25+ years of experience in teaching, research, leadership, and industry, and has served at renowned universities globally, including University of Sharjah, UAE, University of Pretoria, South Africa, and University of Queensland, Australia.
His work includes research in Renewable Energy, Power Systems, and Smart Grid. He has published 350+ research articles, 10 books, 18 book chapters, 200+ journals, and 100+ conference papers.
His research projects have secured over 2 million USD in funding from UoS, European Union, SANEDI, NRF, ESKOM, and more.
Dr. Bhavesh Kumar R. Bhalja, Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Roorkee. Fellow IEEE, Senior Member, Fellow of IE, and Life Member of ISTE. His educational qualifications include a Ph.D. from IIT Roorkee in Digital Protection of Power Systems in 2007, and M.E. and B.E. in Electrical Engineering from Sardar Patel University, Gujarat, in 2001 and 1999 respectively.
He has 15+ years of experience in teaching, research, and administration, with roles such as Associate Dean of Academic Affairs (Evaluation) and (Admission) at IIT Roorkee.
His research areas include Digital Protection and Automation, Cyber Security, Smart Charging Infrastructure, Distributed Generation, and Smart Grid Technology. He has published over 160 research articles, including 100+ journal papers, 55+ conference papers, and 5+ book chapters.
Dr. Bhalja's research projects have received over 63 million USD in funding from CPRI Bangalore, SERC International Cooperation Division, HSR Innovation Centre Trust, and others. He serves as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Systems Journal, IET Generation Transmission, and Distribution.
